Pappu Bhopa: - Pappu, a resident of badnor, bhilwara, Rajasthan, is a role model among young Bhopas from the point of view of folk music. About 38-year-old Pappu is well versed in phad vachan and playing ravanahtha. At the International Heritage Festival, Jaipur, held in the year 2004, he enthralled the audience of ravanhatha so much that the famous classical singer Shrimati Shobha Mudgal listened to him in solitude and received great praise. Despite being away from his father, Mr. Pappu qualified in singing and music while remaining in the company of his relatives. Presently, Shri Papu is living in bhilwara earning livelihood by teaching Ravanahatha to many foreign and indian students. Apart from this, on the occasion of Pushkar fair every year, they also perform in cultural programs organized by Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation.
He is proficient in Phad singing and even today, he prefers the traditional work of Phad singing away from modern glare. In order to keep the enthusiasm of singing Phad in his home and nearby villages, he with his wife kamla bhopi keeps organizing Phad singing programs without any material benefit.
