Imagi Ningthem (English: My Son, My Precious) is a classic Manipuri film directed by Aribam Syam Sharma and written by M. K. Binodini Devi. It is adapted from the radio play of the same title. This film shows many social aspects of a Manipuri society from a humanistic point of view. The relationships between a grandfather and a grandson, the remorse of a childless mother is clearly portrayed. A cinema lover can really feel the intense and highly artistic values of this film. Aribam Syam Sharma who is also a music lover, has done his very best in showing many minute details of Manipuri society, family, social norms, human social behaviours, and nature in this film.
It won the Golden Montgolfiere at the Festival des 3 Continents, Nantes in 1982. The film has been also screened at many International Film Festivals. The film won two awards at the 29th National Film Awards.
The film's screening will be followed by an interaction session with Shri Aribam Syam Sharma, filmmaker and director of the film.
