  SPIC MACAY Cinema Classics presents
Bicycle Thieves (1945) film by Vittorio De Sica

Language: Italiano (with Subtitles: English)
Run time: 89 mins

The film Bicycle Thieves is the best known work of Italian Neorealism, which aimed at giving cinema a new touch of realism.
Held as one of the greatest movies ever made- the BAFTA, Golden Globe and Academy award winning Bicycle Thieves, directed by Vittorio De Sica, defined an era in cinema.
In a poverty-stricken post-war Rome, a man loses his bicycle on the first day of his new job. With his young son, he sets off to track down the thief and get back his bicycle which is crucial for his work.
Simple in construction and profoundly rich in human insight, Bicycle thieves embodies the greatest strengths of the Italian Neorealist movement: emotional clarity, social rectitude, and brutal honestly.
