SPIC MACAY Cinema Classics : The Gold Rush (Produced and Directed by Charlie Chaplin)

SPIC MACAY, Cinema Classics presents to you the silent, comedy American film *Gold rush (1925)* written, produced and directed by *Charlie Chaplin*.

The film stars Charlie Chaplin as the central character. It combines elements of comedy and tragedy, putting forth a beautiful dramatic rendition. Gold rush is said to be one of the greatest works of Charlie Chaplin in the silent era of films. It's the most longest, expensive and elaborate comedy produced upto that time.
The film received nominations of the Academy Awards for the Best Music and the Best sound recording. In 1992, the film was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being _"culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant"_. It ranked 17th in the list of '100 Greatest American Films' released by BBC in 2015.

Charlie Chaplin himself declared that of all his films, _*this was the one he wished to be remembered for the most*_. So, it turned true. Gold rush remains one of the most celebrated works of Charlie Chaplin.
