Flagship Program
A modern gurukul experience
The Gurukul Anubhav Scholarship sends selected students to live with a master classical artist for 1-2 weeks. In the guru's home, students experience the art form not as a performance but as a way of life — waking at dawn to practice, sharing meals, learning the philosophy behind each note and gesture.

How It Works
Students apply through their SPIC MACAY chapter. Selected scholars are matched with a guru based on their interest — whether sitar, tabla, Bharatanatyam, pottery, or weaving. The student travels to the guru's home (often in a small town or village) and spends 1-2 weeks in full immersion. SPIC MACAY covers travel and stay. The experience is free.
Impact
What Scholars Say
Gurukul Anubhav scholars consistently describe the experience as life-changing. Many continue studying the art form after returning. Some have gone on to become professional artists, teachers, or lifelong patrons. The programme demonstrates that the guru-shishya tradition isn't a relic — it's alive and profoundly relevant.
